Many people have been talking about Frances McDormand’s performance in the film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. With that in mind, many felt that McDormand deserved both her nomination and subsequent win for Best Actress at the 2018 Oscars. Unfortunately, this win was short lived as someone would steal McDormand’s Oscar at an official after-party.
The New York Times reports that the man was named Terry Bryant. Bryant has had a long-standing history in regards to crashing celebrity award ceremonies throughout his life. Pictures currently making their way around the internet show him appearing at the MTV Music Awards with another stolen award.
Frances had set her award down at a table for a moment and that was when the theft occurred. Bryant was quick to gloat about the award he had stolen by posting pictures and videos of him with the stolen Oscar on his social media channels. One video features him proudly holding the Oscar calling it his “baby”.
Someone working for chef Wolfgang Puck spotted Bryant holding the Oscar while quickly dashing the scene. Leaping into action, he took a picture of Bryant before reporting the incident to security at the event. It is currently unknown if Bryant will be charged with a misdemeanor or felony crime as the result of this incident.
